These were used for the Deposition and Resurrection rituals on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Plate 3.31 depicts the Northwold Sepulchre (probably late fifteenth century): a relief wall-monument taking an arcaded, pinnacled and vaulted architectural form, in broadly four registers. Plate 3.32 depicts the Heckington Sepulchre (early fourteenth century): a relief wall-monument in broadly three registers. Both drawings are done without scale. Engravings by James Basire Sr, after drawings by Jacob Schnebbelie. 448 x 298 mm and 448 x 298 mm. Published by the Society of Antiquaries of London in 1795.
