Introduction
What this book is about:
The things that German immigrants brought with them, or created in America that remind them/connect them to Germany. The material culture is the focal point; during the planning phase we will focus on curators' explanations of history. During Phase 2 (implementation), the public will contribute to the project by bringing in objects from their own family's history.How to use the book:
You can begin by clicking on a place on the map (above). That will take you to a page about the place, and will have links to all of the categories of objects, and links to all of the objects themselves. Click on the object that you want to learn about, listen to a story, and read about it!
